We started this company for one reason: too many drivers were stuck waiting hours for a tow — and paying tow-truck prices — for problems that can be fixed right where the car sits. A dead battery, a flat tire, keys locked inside, or an empty tank shouldn't cost you your whole day.
We cover all of Pinellas County — Clearwater, St. Petersburg, Largo, Pinellas Park, Seminole, Palm Harbor, Dunedin, Tarpon Springs, Safety Harbor, Oldsmar, Gulfport, East Lake, and the beaches. You need roadside assistance when the car would drive again after a small fix, and a tow when it would not.
A flat tire, a dead battery, keys locked inside and an empty tank are roadside jobs — they are fixed where the car sits. Collision damage, overheating, transmission failure and a no-start that is not the battery are tow jobs. Pinellas Roadside Rescue does not tow. Describe the symptoms when you call; if it sounds like a tow job, you will be told before any fee is charged. If a problem turns out to be beyond a roadside fix once the technician is there — a tire with sidewall damage and no spare, or a no-start that isn't the battery — you get a straight explanation of what was found and what your options are. We don't arrange or charge for tows; you choose who to call next.
Yes, on patrolled freeways. The Florida Department of Transportation's Road Rangers give limited no-cost help when you dial *347 from a mobile phone.
Road Rangers can change a flat, jump-start a car, supply emergency fuel and move a disabled vehicle out of travel lanes. They patrol congested freeway sections and high-incident locations, so they do not come to driveways, parking lots, neighborhood streets or most surface roads. For those, call a local service. FDOT reports more than 6.1 million assists since the program began in 2000.

Get the vehicle as far off the road as you can, turn on your hazard lights, and stay belted inside if traffic is close. If you are in a travel lane or on a bridge and cannot move, call 911 first.
Then call or text 727-637-9402 with your location, vehicle and what happened — a cross street, mile marker or dropped map pin is enough. Florida's Move Over law requires passing drivers to move over a lane for a disabled vehicle stopped on the roadside, or slow to 20 mph below the posted limit when moving over is not safe. Since January 1, 2025 it covers any vehicle stopped with hazard lights flashing, including one with a flat tire.
